Our Story
The National Motorist Association was founded in 1982 to advocate for the rights of motorists and combat restrictive traffic laws. Originally known as the Citizens Coalition for Rational Traffic Laws, the NMA has evolved to represent the interests of drivers nationwide, focusing on issues such as speed limits and red-light cameras.
Impact
Through dedicated advocacy, the NMA has successfully influenced legislation, leading to the repeal of the 55 mph speed limit and increased speed limits in 41 states. The organization continues to educate the public on traffic laws and regulations.
