Our Story
Founded in 1994, the National Korean American Service and Education Consortium Inc (NAKASEC) emerged from the democracy movement in South Korea. It was established to unite Korean and Asian Americans in the fight for social, racial, and economic justice, particularly in response to the Los Angeles Uprising of 1992 and California’s Proposition 187.
Impact
NAKASEC has mobilized over 55,000 community members and engaged more than 400 volunteers, advocating for the rights of immigrants and social justice.
