Empowering Students Through College Advising

Founded in 2005, College Advising Corps began as a program at the University of Virginia, dedicated to increasing college access for students from low-income communities. Over the years, it has grown into an independent nonprofit, now operating in 16 states with 760 advisers in 800 high schools. The organization provides personalized guidance to help students navigate their postsecondary options, including college, trade schools, and military service.

Making a Significant Impact

Since its inception, College Advising Corps has helped nearly 850,000 seniors enroll in colleges and universities nationwide. In the 2021-22 academic year, 84% of seniors had one or more meetings with their adviser, and 71% submitted college applications, showcasing the effectiveness of their advising model.
