Our Story

The National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (National CAPACD) was founded in March 1999 by dedicated community leaders and activists. Recognizing the urgent need for a national voice for low-income Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities, the coalition started with just 16 organizations. Today, it has expanded to over 100 members, focusing on policy analysis and advocacy to address the unique challenges faced by these communities.

Impact

National CAPACD has positively impacted the lives of over 2 million Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders living in poverty. Through advocacy, tools, and shared knowledge, the coalition has stabilized over 10,000 vulnerable households and small businesses, providing essential support and mutual aid.
