Our Story

The National Christopher Columbus Association was founded to foster open and academically sound dialogue about Christopher Columbus and his historical significance. Established in 1912, the organization commemorated the dedication of the national Columbus Memorial in Washington, D.C., attended by President William Howard Taft. Today, the NCCA continues to celebrate Columbus Day and promote educational initiatives that honor Columbus's legacy.

Our Impact

Through annual Columbus Day celebrations and educational programs, the NCCA engages communities and encourages historical research, particularly through a national essay contest for high school students.
