Our Story

The National Black Postdoctoral Association was founded in 2021 by Dr. Frankie Heyward to combat the isolation faced by Black postdoctoral fellows, particularly at Harvard Medical School. This organization fosters a supportive community for Black postdocs across the nation, offering essential resources and opportunities for professional development.

Our Impact

NBPA has successfully built a virtual community that empowers Black postdocs through networking and resource sharing. Programs focused on mental health and childcare support have been initiated to enhance the well-being of its members.
