Our Story
The Black Child Development Institute of Greensboro, Inc. (BCDI-G) was founded in 1979 by Sarah Walden Herbin to address the educational needs of African American children at risk of academic failure. Starting with just 36 children, BCDI-G has grown to provide vital educational support and advocacy, ensuring that children in the Greater Greensboro community have the resources they need to succeed.
Impact
With the support of the community, BCDI-G has positively impacted over 15,000 children, helping to close the academic achievement gap and providing diverse opportunities for learning and growth.
