The Nashville Teacher Residency (NTR) was founded in 2016 to transform the education landscape in Middle Tennessee. With a commitment to justice, diversity, and equity, NTR trains passionate teacher candidates to serve underserved communities. Since becoming an independent nonprofit in 2017, NTR has expanded its partnerships from 4 to 17 schools, significantly increasing its impact on local education.
NTR recruits and trains diverse teacher candidates, focusing on high-performing middle and high school math and English educators. The growth from 12 to 40 Residents showcases the organization's dedication to equitable educational outcomes.
