Our Story
Founded in 1972, the Napa Valley Museum was established by a passionate group of citizens dedicated to preserving the region's rich heritage. Recognizing the absence of a dedicated museum in Napa County, they created a space to celebrate the history, environment, and culture of Napa Valley. In 1998, the Museum relocated to Yountville, where it continues to thrive on land leased from the California State Veterans Home. The striking architectural design by Fernau and Hartmann reflects the agricultural roots of the county while embracing modern aesthetics. The Museum features three galleries that showcase local history, world-class art exhibitions, and a platform for local artists.
