Our Story
Once a sportsman’s club, Nahant Marsh faced severe contamination from lead, prompting a collaborative effort among the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, River Action, Quad City Audubon Society, and Iowa DNR to restore this vital ecosystem. Declared a Superfund Site by the EPA, extensive cleanup efforts have revitalized the marsh, transforming it into a thriving nature preserve and educational center.
