Our Story

The Native American Voters Alliance Education Project emerged from the fight to protect the Petroglyph National Monument in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This struggle against development ignited a passion for civic engagement, leading to the recruitment of hundreds of community members to advocate for Indigenous rights and environmental justice. Through participation in city council and legislative meetings, the organization has become a powerful voice for Native American communities, focusing on the intersection of civic engagement and environmental protection.

Our Impact

NAEVA played a crucial role in the passage of the first Native American Voting Rights Act in the United States, ensuring that Indigenous voices are heard in the political arena.
