Our Story

The Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale was founded in 2013 as the first krewe established by African American women for African American women, welcoming all women. Inspired by founder Gwendolyn Victoria Rainey’s father and supported by community leaders, the Krewe provides a platform for women to engage in New Orleans' vibrant cultural landscape.

Our Impact

From 13 founding members to over 1,400 women across 26 states, the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale fosters sisterhood and community engagement. Recognized as one of the best Mardi Gras float parade krewes, the Krewe showcases its significant impact on the cultural landscape of New Orleans.
