Founded in 2011, My Pit Bull is Family emerged from a landlord's commitment to inclusivity for Pit Bull Type dogs in Minneapolis, MN. After removing breed restrictions from her properties, she adopted her first Pit Bull, Tate, and later Persia. This personal journey sparked a campaign to end housing and insurance discrimination, leading to the creation of a comprehensive housing database for rentals that accept these beloved dogs. In 2014, Shannon Glenn joined the mission, transforming it into a nonprofit organization that has since become a leader in animal welfare.
