Our Story

My Sister's House was founded in June 2000 to address domestic violence within the Asian and Pacific Islander community in Sacramento. As the first agency of its kind, it became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in January 2001 and opened its first safe haven in April 2003. Since then, it has expanded its services to support victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault, providing culturally appropriate resources and support.

Impact

With a 24-hour multilingual helpline and various support programs, My Sister's House has successfully provided culturally competent services to women and children impacted by violence.
