Our Story

Founded in 2006 by Heather Hopkins, My New Red Shoes began as a grassroots effort to provide new shoes and clothing to children in need. Inspired by her mother's experience with childhood poverty, Heather mobilized her community from her garage, helping 354 school-aged children in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties in that first year. Today, MNRS operates from the Sobrato Center for Nonprofits in Redwood Shores, expanding its reach to the greater San Francisco Bay Area and impacting nearly 100,000 youth.

Our Impact

Since its inception, My New Red Shoes has delivered essential items to over 260,000 children and families, distributing more than $2.6 million in economic assistance to those facing hardship.
