Our Story
In the wake of the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007, the Korean community faced immense emotional distress. Responding to a call for help, Dr. Josephine Myong Hwa Kim founded Mustard Seed Generation, Inc. (MSG) to address the mental health needs of Korean Americans. Initially, MSG organized conferences across the United States and globally, fostering healing and connection within the community. After a brief hiatus, MSG was relaunched in 2017 by a dedicated group of Korean graduate students from Harvard, who recognized the urgent need for mental health discussions among Korean Americans.
