Our Story
The Mustafa Center, named after Al-Mustafa, the Chosen One, was established by the Afghan Academy with the support of the local Muslim community. This 7,800 square feet property, once abandoned and plagued by addiction, was transformed into a house of worship in 1999. After overcoming numerous challenges, the community came together to purchase the land in 1995 and construct the center, which was completed in November 1999. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the center's construction debt was fully paid off during the blessed month of Ramadan in 2004.
Our Impact
The Mustafa Center serves to support, unite, and strengthen the Muslim community and the broader community in the Washington Metropolitan area. By providing relevant knowledge, social services, and fostering understanding based on the principles of the Qur’an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), the center plays a vital role in community development.
