Our Story
In 2005, a dedicated group of Muslim brothers, including Muhammad Amin Choudary, Dr. Masarrat Ali, and Ismael Vohra, recognized the urgent need to strengthen the Muslim community in San Antonio. They purchased a modest 2500 sq. ft. house, transforming it into a welcoming space for worship and community activities. By October 2005, the masjid opened its doors, marking the beginning of a vibrant community hub.
In 2007, the center expanded with the acquisition of adjacent land, leading to the construction of a main building that can accommodate 5000 worshipers, inaugurated on August 14, 2010. The vision continued to grow with plans for a full-time K-12 Islamic school, which has been in operation since the center's inception, providing essential Islamic education to children.
In March 2014, the El-Bari Clinic was established, offering free medical care to all San Antonians, further solidifying MCECC's commitment to community health. The Dr. Masarrat Ali Memorial building, inaugurated in August 2021, now houses the Saturday and Sunday schools, while the Alif Academy, launched in September 2022, focuses on Quran memorization for children and adults.
