After-School Music Education

Our Story

Founded in 2015 by Margaret Gonzalez and Steve Perdicaris, Music Mission San Francisco is an El-Sistema inspired after-school music education program located in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District. The program, hosted at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts, offers approximately 60 classes from September through May, focusing on basic musicianship, violin, and cello. In 2024, MMSF expanded its offerings to include flute, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone through a partnership with the Community Music Center.

Impact
