Our Story

The Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts was founded by Matilda Rausch Dodge Wilson, who envisioned a theater that welcomed all ethnicities and provided high-quality performing arts. Since its opening on December 10, 1928, the venue has hosted numerous renowned artists and performances, becoming a cultural hub in Southeastern Michigan.
