Fighting Hunger

Our Story

Founded in 2010 by violist Kim Kashkashian, Music for Food emerged from a dinner conversation among musicians about leveraging their talents to address food insecurity. Inspired by Carol Rodland’s Rochester-based food drive concerts, this initiative has blossomed into a concert series that spans 22 chapter cities across the U.S., Canada, and Taiwan. Through the power of music, over 350 artists have come together to create a profound impact, generating more than 2 million meals for those in need.

Impact

In the 2022-2023 season alone, Music for Food concerts raised over $110,200 for food pantries nationwide, directly contributing to the fight against hunger.
