Our Story

In the wake of the devastating Southeast Asia Tsunami in December 2004, a group of friends in Seattle came together to make a difference. They raised over $500 for World Vision and organized a benefit concert that generated an additional $10,000 for C.A.R.E. Recognizing the power of music and philanthropy, they founded Music Aid Northwest to support music education in Washington State.

Impacting Music Education

Partnering with the Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA), Music Aid Northwest has become a vital resource for music teachers across the state. The organization launched the “Music Matters” specialty license plate program in 2010, generating over $60,000 annually for music classrooms. The “Play It Forward” concert series showcases talented students and musicians, raising funds to support music education.
