The Museum of Northern California Art, known as monca, was established in 2009 through community workshops aimed at revitalizing the Veterans Memorial Building in Chico. Officially incorporated in 2011, monca's mission is to make art accessible and to promote awareness of Northern California artists through diverse collections, exhibitions, and educational programs.

Impacting the Community

Since opening its doors in July 2017, monca has mounted 25 exhibitions and provided educational field trips, significantly enriching the cultural landscape of Northern California.
