Our Story

Founded in 1946, Meeting Street is the nation's first school dedicated to providing comprehensive educational, therapeutic, and developmental services to children with disabilities and special needs. Established by Margaret “Poggy” Langdon and Dr. Eric Denhoff, the organization has evolved through the years, expanding its services and locations, including a significant merger with The Schwartz Center for Children in 2014.

Impact

Meeting Street empowers children and their families to thrive by fostering the development of the whole child through individualized attention from highly trained professionals. The organization has a proven track record in early intervention and inclusive education, positively impacting the lives of children with special needs across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
