Our Story

In 1959, Reverend Dr. Mozel Sanders began a mission to serve the needs of his congregation at Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis. This dedication led to the establishment of the annual "Mozel Sanders Thanksgiving Day Dinner." After his passing in 1988, his son, Reverend Roosevelt Sanders, continued this vital work, expanding the Mozel Sanders Foundation to include 40 satellite distribution locations.

Impact

Today, the Foundation serves over 40,000 hot meals annually, ensuring that the legacy of feeding the hungry and empowering the community lives on.
