Our Story
The Mountain Lion Foundation is a national nonprofit organization founded in 1986 by passionate individuals committed to protecting mountain lions and their habitats. The organization emerged in response to the threat of trophy hunting, leading to the successful passage of the California Wildlife Protection Act of 1990, which banned sport hunting of cougars in California.
