About Prevention Central

Established in 1993, Prevention Central is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on addressing the needs of disadvantaged youth and families in Broward County and the Treasure Coast. Originally created to tackle the disproportionate representation of minorities in the juvenile justice system, the mission has expanded to include Family Reunification Services, Prevention Programs, Family Strengthening, Emergency Food Pantry, Parenting, and Neighborhood Empowerment.

Every year, Prevention Central distributes over 20,000 food packets to low and moderate-income families, providing essential support to those in need. Through proactive intervention and support, the organization aims to reduce the risk factors contributing to juvenile justice involvement and enhance the overall well-being of participants.
