Our Story

Founded in 2011, Motus Theater emerged from the multimedia theater work Rocks Karma Arrows, which examined Boulder’s history through the lenses of race and class. The organization is dedicated to producing original theater that sparks dialogue on critical issues, particularly immigration and social justice, while uplifting marginalized voices through autobiographical performances and multimedia projects.

Our Impact

Motus Theater has engaged over 18,000 individuals through its transformative programs, fostering essential community discussions on immigration and social justice. The performances have significantly influenced both local and national conversations, especially regarding the experiences of undocumented individuals and the repercussions of the criminal legal system.
