Our Story
Mothers In Charge, Inc. was founded in May 2003 by Dr. Dorothy Johnson-Speight after the tragic murder of her son, Khaaliq Jabaar Johnson. Initially a support group for grieving mothers, the organization has transformed into a powerful advocacy group focused on violence prevention, intervention, and education. With a holistic approach to trauma-informed services, it aims to create safer communities through outreach and education.
