Our Story

In June 1994, Cathy Howe, a devoted homemaker from Pittsburgh, was profoundly moved by the plight of children in a refugee camp in Medjugorje, Bosnia-Hercegovina. This experience ignited her passion to help, leading to the creation of the Mother's Hope Foundation. Initially focused on Bosnian orphans, Cathy later expanded her mission to support children suffering from cancer in her community after her own cancer diagnosis.

Our Impact

The Mother's Hope Foundation provides vital emotional and financial assistance to families with children battling cancer in Western Pennsylvania, while also supporting child refugees in Bosnia-Hercegovina. This dual focus alleviates suffering and enhances the quality of life for those in need.
