Our Story

Established in 1985, Mother Seton House, Inc. was founded by compassionate local clergy and citizens who recognized the urgent need for support among runaway and homeless girls. Named after Mother Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first native-born American saint, the organization has grown from providing temporary shelter in host families' homes to operating dedicated facilities. With the generous support of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, Seton Youth Services now offers emergency shelter, counseling, and support for youth aged 9 to 17, available 24/7 at no cost.

Impact

Seton Youth Services is a beacon of hope for teens in crisis throughout Southside Hampton Roads. With a dedicated staff, the organization successfully reconciles families in over 90% of cases, providing essential support and guidance to both teens and their parents.
