Mother of Mercy House

Our Story

Founded in 2015 by two archdiocesan priests and an Immaculate Heart of Mary Sister, Mother of Mercy House was inspired by Pope Francis’ call to serve the poor. Located in Kensington, Philadelphia, this organization meets the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of a community grappling with poverty, violence, addiction, and homelessness.

Impact

Mother of Mercy House addresses the critical needs of Kensington, the second hungriest congressional district in the U.S. Through food assistance and various support programs, the organization engages with both housed and unhoused neighbors, fostering a sense of community.
