Our Story
Mostly Modern Projects is dedicated to shining a spotlight on music by (mostly) living composers. Founded in 2005 by Robert and Victoria Paterson, the organization launched Lumiere Records, a classical label, followed by the award-winning American Modern Recordings in 2011. The critically acclaimed American Modern Ensemble was formed to revolutionize classical music programming. In 2018, the Mostly Modern Festival was established in Saratoga Springs, New York, quickly becoming known as the 'Aspen of the East'. This festival hosts the MMF Institute, an educational experience for 200 instrumentalists, singers, composers, and conductors, attracting over 3,000 attendees annually.
