Our Story

Mosaic Family Services was founded in 1993 by Dr. Walter Nguyen, a former refugee from Vietnam, to assist struggling refugees and immigrants in the Dallas area. Initially focused on drug education and counseling, the organization expanded its services to include health, social, and victim services, particularly for foreign-born victims of violence. In 2001, Mosaic established the first anti-trafficking program in Texas and opened a shelter for refugee and immigrant women and children victims of family violence. Today, Mosaic stands as a safe haven for survivors of human rights abuses, providing culturally competent services to those in need.
