Our Story

In 1995, Peter Morton faced a life-altering bicycle accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. In the wake of this tragedy, friends transformed their grief into action, launching a golf tournament in his hometown to raise funds for spinal cord injury research. This initiative blossomed into the Morton Cure Paralysis Fund (MCPF). Over the years, MCPF has expanded its reach, relocating to the Twin Cities and establishing a presence in Phoenix, all while raising over $5 million for groundbreaking research.

Impact of Our Work

MCPF has been at the forefront of innovative research, supporting projects that explore glial scar formation, umbilical cord stem cells, remyelination, and axon growth. These efforts have not only advanced the quest for a cure but have also attracted significant funding from the National Institutes of Health for further testing.
