Our Story

Founded by Mike Schaefer in 1978, Morning Star Outreach emerged from a personal journey of redemption. After overcoming a troubled childhood filled with abandonment and abuse, Mike dedicated his life to helping at-risk youth. The organization provides free summer camps for middle school-aged children from underserved communities in the San Francisco Bay Area, aiming to reshape their lives and instill hope.
