Founded in 1909 by Peter H. McCarthy, Morning Star Mission began as a response to personal tragedy and a calling to serve. After reconnecting with his faith, Pete dedicated his life to feeding the hungry and helping the homeless in Joliet, Illinois. Over the years, the mission has expanded its services to include shelters for women and children, a recovery program, and a café that serves meals to those in need.
