Our Story

Founded in 2010 by Ellie von Wellsheim, The MoonCatcher Project addresses the challenges faced by girls in Zimbabwe during menstruation. Inspired by a talk from Denise Stasik, Ellie utilized her sewing skills to create reusable menstrual pads, leading to a global initiative that now spans over 30 countries.

Impact

With over 200,000 menstrual kits delivered, The MoonCatcher Project has enabled more than 150,000 girls to remain in school and engage in their communities. Additionally, over 62,000 disposable menstrual supplies have been distributed to food pantries and shelters across the U.S.
