Our Story
Founded in 1947 by dedicated Civilian Air Defense members, the Montrose Search and Rescue Team, originally known as the Montrose Mountaineers, has been a beacon of hope for those lost or injured in the mountains. With a legacy of thousands of successful missions, this volunteer team is committed to serving the community.
Impact
As one of eight non-profit, volunteer rescue teams affiliated with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Montrose Search and Rescue has conducted over 5,500 missions. The team is always prepared to respond to wilderness emergencies, ensuring safety in the great outdoors.
