Montgomery Place
EIN: 36-3582046 · Chicago, IL
Our Story
Montgomery Place has a rich history that began over 125 years ago when Rev. Walter Delafield responded to the needs of three elderly women in his Episcopal parish in Hyde Park. In 1888, he rented a home for them, which laid the foundation for what would become The Church Home organization. By 1915, the first residential building was constructed to accommodate 80 adults. In the 1980s, the organization purchased its current property and opened Montgomery Place in October 1991, named in honor of Bishop James W. Montgomery. Today, Montgomery Place continues to provide a nurturing environment for seniors, supported by clergy chaplains from the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago.
