The Montgomery County Veterans Coalition was founded in June 2014 by Sherry Pickering, inspired by a committee aimed at educating veteran-serving organizations about community resources. With over 350 members from more than 200 nonprofits, veteran organizations, churches, businesses, and governmental agencies, the Coalition serves as a vital flow of information and advocacy for veterans and their families.
Through suicide prevention classes, networking opportunities, and collaboration with various organizations, the Coalition addresses critical veteran issues. It has successfully advocated for legislation and provided essential resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.
