Our Story
The Crighton Theatre, established in 1934, has a rich history intertwined with the community of Conroe, Texas. Originally a movie palace, it faced decline but was saved from disrepair in the 1970s through dedicated community efforts and generous donations. The Montgomery County Foundation for the Performing Arts was formed to accept the donation of the theatre, which was restored to its original grandeur with significant community involvement. Today, it stands as a vibrant cultural hub for performing arts in the region.
