Our Story

The Montgomery Area Public Library was established in 1911 by the Parent-Teachers Association of Montgomery High School, beginning with a modest collection of used books. Over the years, community support and donations have fueled its growth, leading to the relocation to a former bank building in 1986. The library has continually adapted its services to meet the evolving needs of the community, including the introduction of free WiFi and access to eBooks.

Impact

This library serves as a vital resource, offering literature, technology, and educational programs that particularly benefit low-income patrons by removing barriers to access through initiatives like going fine-free.
