Since 1939, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Posse has been dedicated to preserving Western Heritage in the Salinas Valley. Originally formed as the Salinas Rodeo Rider’s & Sheriff’s Posse, this organization has evolved to support equine events, community gatherings, and educational initiatives.
Celebrating 76 years of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Posse Junior Rodeo, the oldest continuous youth rodeo in California, this foundation provides scholarships through Hartnell College and supports local 4H Clubs.
