Our Story

The Montana Higher Education Student Assistance Corporation (MHESAC) has dedicated over three decades to supporting Montanans in their pursuit of higher education. With a mission to serve borrowers and maintain the integrity of its financial structure, MHESAC has successfully provided more than $2.5 billion in capital for student loans through its Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program. Although the origination of new FFEL loans ceased in 2010, MHESAC continues to purchase federally guaranteed rehabilitated education loans, ensuring ongoing support for students.
