Transforming Lives in Kenya
In 2002, a journey to Kenya opened the eyes of a compassionate individual to the harsh realities of extreme poverty. This experience ignited a commitment to raise awareness and funds for children in need. Among the many stories, one stood out: a 13-year-old boy named Joseph, who had lost his parents and found refuge in a children's home in the slums of Kibera, Nairobi. Over the years, a bond formed between them, leading to the establishment of Hugs for Life, an initiative dedicated to supporting orphaned and impoverished children.
Joseph's Journey
Joseph's story is one of resilience and hope. After reuniting with his brother Stephen, he realized the dire need for education and support among children like them. Inspired by his own struggles, Joseph took in his brother and later became the guardian of two more orphaned boys, Joseph and Peter. Together, they form a loving family, proving that even in the face of adversity, dreams can flourish.
Making a Difference
The Moja Foundation provides essential financial support to Hugs for Life, ensuring that these children receive the care, education, and opportunities they deserve. Currently, three children are under the loving guardianship of Joseph, who is dedicated to their well-being and future. The foundation also supports food packages for orphaned children and child-headed households, addressing immediate needs while fostering long-term growth.
