Our Story

The Missouri Prairie Foundation (MPF) was established in 1966 by dedicated conservationists who recognized the urgent need to protect the declining greater prairie-chicken and its grassland habitat. Over the decades, MPF has evolved into a prominent nonprofit land trust, safeguarding over 4,900 acres of vital prairie and native grasslands across Missouri.

Impact

For 58 years, MPF has been at the forefront of prairie conservation, engaging thousands through educational programs and outreach initiatives. The organization plays a crucial role in preserving some of the most imperiled habitats on the planet.
