Our Story
Founded in 1991, Mississippi United to End Homelessness (MUTEH) has dedicated itself to eradicating homelessness across Mississippi. Starting from humble beginnings within the Multi-County Community Service Agency in Meridian, MUTEH has evolved into a leading force in the fight against homelessness. Achieving 501c3 non-profit status in 2008, MUTEH became the Lead Agency for the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and the Mississippi Balance of State Continuum of Care (CoC) community plan. Over the years, MUTEH has successfully secured funding, including the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) stimulus funds, to support vital Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Programs.
In 2018, MUTEH was recognized by the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Department of Veterans Affairs for effectively ending homelessness among Veterans in Mississippi. This achievement underscores MUTEH's commitment to serving vulnerable populations and collaborating with local and state organizations to reach those in need.
