Mission of Mary Cooperative emerged from a dedicated community of Lay Marianists in the Twin Towers neighborhood, addressing the dual challenges of abandoned land and limited access to fresh produce. Since 2009, the organization has transformed neglected green spaces into thriving vegetable gardens, expanding from a single plot to a network of six urban farming sites, cultivating over 100 varieties of fruits and vegetables.
Last year, Mission of Mary harvested and distributed an impressive 35 tons of vegetables, significantly enhancing food access for local residents.
