Mission Haven
EIN: 58-6042883 · Decatur, GA
Our Story
Mission Haven began in the early 1920s when Mrs. J. D. Clotsworthy of Atlanta, Georgia, entrusted a five-dollar gold piece to Dr. Richard Gillespie, President of Columbia Theological Seminary, to be used 'where the need was greatest.' This initial gift laid the foundation for a home dedicated to missionaries returning to the U.S. on furlough. Incorporated in January 1951, Mission Haven has since provided a welcoming space for mission co-workers and their families.
Our Impact
Mission Haven offers affordable short-term housing and friendly hospitality to mission co-workers of the Presbyterian Church (USA), along with a Clothes Closet stocked with donated clothing for missionary families and local seminary students.
